Sunday, June 01, 2003 it has come to my attention that water is quite the favourite with low-budget productions.
take for example the storm rages twice , the lebanese/french soapie. madame jamal refers to her on again-off again husband's on again-off again as "less important than water. in fact, you are the excess water that causes dyspepsia".
or most recently, this japanese thriller (in the cheapest sense of the word) where it starts off interestingly enough and does offer quite a few heart-stopping moments. but then tapers off into this cheap thing where the killer is an "evil mass from the future" and shloops around in the form of a puddle (remember the villain from darkwing duck ??) .. and of course, what does it represent but all the evil intentions that exist in each and every one of us.
